Mission Statement

We are a collaborative of BOCES Regional Information centers providing leadership and efficient, effective technology solutions for the purpose of supporting management, learning, and student achievement.

RIC Directors' Goals

2009-2011

  • Develop a common answer sheet for NY state tests (3-8 and Regents) that can be scanned by all centers.
  • Continue to expand and communicate progress on the vision to provide broadband capacity to all learners in K-12 schools.
  • Data Warehouse – Define statewide best practices for using data to inform instruction.  Work collaboratively with SED to enhance reporting which will help educators understand data and improve instruction.
  • Share knowledge around efforts of disaster recovery and business continuity to leverage cost containment and maximize shared expertise.
  • Instructional Focused Goals -

1. Define digital content, categorize various types of digital content, identify barriers to successful implementation of digital content and propose solutions to overcoming those barriers.

2. Define RIC to RIC collaborations around projects and services that could be partnered, shared, or delivered across RICs. (statewide pilot project)

Long Term Goals:

  • Continue to share information and collaborate wherever possible to expand the scope of RIC services to P-16, the full scope of USNY partners and municipalities in order to promote shared services achieving effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Provide best practice for online scoring/testing and partner with the DSs and SED to move this initiative forward.
